Support Grammar

Linden Gray Professional Development Grant

“Her boundless advocacy for students in need left an indelible mark on the entire spirit of learning at Grammar.”

- Steven Laffoley '84
Head of School
In December 2021, the Halifax Grammar School community was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our former Head of Prep and present Learning Strategist, Linden Gray.

For over a decade, Linden served as the well-loved Head of Prep School, leading an exceptional team of teachers who provided programming excellence from Junior Primary to Grade Four. After retiring from her role as Head of Prep, Linden became Grammar’s Learning Strategist, teaching teachers how to broaden their approaches to learning differences in the classroom and providing learning support for our students.

Linden was an irrepressible force for kindness and care. Her boundless advocacy for students in need and her accomplished support of their learning at the school left an indelible mark not only on the lives of so many young people, parents, and educators but also an indelible mark on the entire spirit of learning at Grammar.

To honor Linden Gray’s many contributions to the school, we are pleased to announce the establishment of The Linden Gray Professional Development Grant for Learning Strategies. This grant honors Linden’s passionate commitment to education by providing Grammar Faculty members professional development grants to deepen and broaden their approaches to learning strategies in support of students.

Please consider a gift in Linden Gray’s name to The Linden Gray Professional Development Grant for Learning Strategies.

Thank you.
