Performing Arts

Performing Arts at Grammar is another example of how our students achieve a rounded education in the arts through in-class learning and getting involved in school productions. Students in the Prep, Middle and Senior School take part in musical productions to show their on-stage talents.

A core part of Grammar's Performing Art's Program is the Band and Music Program. Students in the Performing Arts Program play a wide variety of instruments that suit their interests, including Ukelele, Bass, Percussion, Flute, Obo, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Tuba, French Horn and Trombone.

Halifax Grammar's Senior School Musical: Newsies

In February 2020, our Senior School students performed the Broadway Musical: Newsies. The production is based on the 1992 musical film Newsies, inspired by the Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. The musical focuses on the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newspaper boy with the dream of being an artist far away from the big city.
