Message from the Head Boy and Head Girl

The Halifax Grammar School offers an environment that is both challenging and exciting, where we are nurtured under the guidance of the best teachers. Students are encouraged to ask questions, they develop a love of learning, and they gain the confidence and tools to seek answers. We are supported in following our passions in academics, altruism, athletics or the arts, and the diversity of our talents is celebrated. Whether I am playing soccer, representing Grammar at Model UN, or volunteering with my classmates, I always feel supported by my peers and have fun. The Grammar School develops empathetic students who care and are motivated to give back to our community in order to make the world a better place.

-Dimitra Tsimiklis'18, Head Girl

I am so proud of the deeply rooted culture of learning that is present in all aspects of the Halifax Grammar School. In the classroom, students are challenged to become formidable writers, presenters, scientists, thinkers and leaders through a vigorous, yet highly satisfying curriculum. These students’ lives are enriched by being surrounded by supportive peers, who form life-long friendships and encourage each other to strive for excellence. The staff and faculty at Grammar are passionate experts on the subjects they teach, give countless hours of one on one support to students, and are incredibly giving of their time to coach sports teams, put on theatrical productions, and support students’ efforts to drive change in their communities.

-Gabriel Duguay'18, Head Boy
