Congratulations Niall MacGillivray '09

Congratulations to Grammar alumni Niall MacGillivray ’09, who was recently named a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Quantitative Finance. Niall began this rigorous, six-year process in university, undertaking an intense training and examination process. The journey is similar to that of accountants, attorneys and physicians—with an emphasis on how mathematical analysis can support strategic business decisions. Receiving the Fellow designation requires additional examination and is the highest Actuarial Credential one can receive.

Niall was a Grammar Lifer and credits Mr. Russell Boyle (grade 11/12 higher-level math), who recommended the University of Waterloo's Mathematics Program. It was here where Niall received the Eckler Gold Medal, an honor given to the graduate with the highest cumulative average. Niall currently works as a Portfolio Analyst at Nephila Capital in Bermuda - a hedge fund specializing in Insurance Linked Securities, and sits on the Board of Directors of Venture for Canada.
