HGS Senior Boys Basketball team wins Dairytown Classic
Halifax Grammar School won the boys division of the 29th Annual Dairytown Classic high school basketball tournament in Sussex, N.B., with a 75-73 victory over Kennebecasis Valley High School of Quispamsis, N.B., in the final on January 2nd.
Tournament all-star Demeric Mercer (S1) led the Gryphons with 26 points in the championship game, while tournament MVP Campbell Colpitts (S2) had 12 points.
Will Colpitts (S2), named the tournament’s top defensive player, added 14 points for the Gryphons, who beat CEC of Truro 85-55 in a semifinal, and had pool wins over Saint John High and KVHS.
