HGS Senior Boys' Basketball team successful in Chicago

The Senior Boys’ Basketball team recently travelled to Chicago, Illinois, and South Bend, Indiana to play some exhibition basketball games against two teams in the area. During their trip, the boys visited many local landmarks and attractions, including Wrigley Field, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Magnificent Mile, and the Art Institute of Chicago. While in Chicago they also took part in an architectural river cruise, where they saw more than 50 beautiful buildings, many of which were award winners for their design.

They also saw the Champions Classic Basketball Double Header and witnessed the Duke/Kentucky and Michigan State/Kansas games.
Additionally, the boys went to a Notre Dame basketball and football game while in South Bend. Coach Tim McGarrigle noted the boys thoroughly enjoyed their trip and that they represented HGS with class and dignity.

The trip would not have been possible without the Three Great Chefs, One Great Evening Event held in October. Through the support of attendees, donors, and a live and silent auction, a grand total of $12,600 was raised.

Final scores from the Chicago Trip:
