The advancement team is delighted to welcome Samantha Warshickas alumni officer for the next twelve months while Fabiola Mascaro is on maternity leave. Sam is shadowing Gay Silverman this month and working closely with the alumni association executive. She is excited to transfer her event management and fundraising skills to this new position with the school.
Samantha grew up in Dartmouth (attending Prince Andrew High School), but left for Quebec to attend Bishop’s University. There she received a BA with a major in Media, Communications & Cultural Studies with minors in Sociology and Entrepreneurship. Not being able to stay away from the ocean for too long, Samantha came back to attend NSCC Waterfront and obtain an Advanced Diploma in Public Relations. Here she was able to put her passion for event planning and networking to use volunteering with every major event she could get involved in and coaching soccer for Dartmouth United.
From there Samantha spent a quick few months in Toronto working for Bishop’s Alumni and Owner of Paradigm Events. Most recently, Samantha worked as the Senior Campaign Coordinator (for Atlantic Canada) for the Light The Night Campaign, through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. The Light The Night Campaign won the highest raising first year walk in Canada, and Outstanding Special Event from the Association of Fundraising Professionals under Samantha’s leadership.
