IB Art III Exhibit

On April 11, Grammar held its annual IB Art III Exhibit. It was a relaxing and pleasant evening for all. As you made your way up the stairs to the Silver Art Studio the soulful flute music of Sophie Poulos S1, Megan Sutton S1, and Seasy Huang S1 greeted you. Once entering the art studio you were presented with a varied array of art pieces by the graduating IB art students: Annika Gnann, David Langley, Aya El Megharbel, Jack Fraser, Liam Healy, and Adelle Goodfellow.

Mr. Blayne Addley welcomed everyone to the exhibit and reception. Ms. Laura Brock spoke about how art is incorporated into the IB program and introduced our guest speaker, alumnus Mr. Kim Aertz, a graduate of '84, who gave our students advice for their future. Lastly, Ms. Karla Silver spoke to the art students and gave some kind, inspiring words.

Family and friends enjoyed fine art, fine food and fine conversation. The artwork surrounded the room: Jack’s amazing sketches, Annika’s Olympic hanging hands, Aya’s fashion pieces, Adelle's sculptures, Liam’s dramatic paintings, and David’s beautiful photography.

Preparing for this art show took two or more years for each student. We had a great deal of fun in the process!
