Ben Koshi 2nd in Maritimes Chess Tournament

Congratulations to Ben Koshi of Prep Four Curran on his second place finish in the Maritime Chess Tournament in Charlottetown PEI on November 16. The tournament is organized by the chess associations of Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick. It is a preparation event for the Nationals, which will take place in Ottawa this May.

For this tournament players compete against players with the same rating, not according to their age or grade. Since Ben's rating is higher than those of children of the same age, he was grouped with grades five and six students. Ben was just half a point behind the first place challenger! Well done, Ben.
