With the success of the Parent Mixer - many thanks to Chair Keri Hardman (Sarah SP, William P3) and her strong volunteer contingent -we are well poised to roll into the year with much momentum in our endeavour to have each planned event more successful than the last.
That said, the Book Fair is coming and Chair Katherine Hull (Adam P1, Ryan SP) has stepped up to the challenge. Coinciding with the Parent Teacher Interviews it is a perfect event to introduce or maintain the adventure of reading and get a jump start on Christmas shopping. The fair will be set up in both TRC and ASC. The dates are Wednesday 17, Thursday 18, and Friday 19 of October.
The role of chair for the Holiday Munch has been graciously taken on by Diane Casha (Gabby S3, Eve S2, Lara S2, Giulia P3). Save the date of December 2, 2012. It will have lots of the old favourite activities such as the craft room, lego, etc. This year, the munch will also be the venue for pick-up of pre-ordered Christmas wreaths. Christine Wilson (Henry M1, Edie M3) has once again agreed to chair the Christmas wreath sales. More information will follow on these topics. For anyone who has a crafty knack, please join us in making the Christmas wreath bows at the next PAC meeting (first Tuesday of November).
You will, in the course of the next few months, be inundated with our pleas to unlock your email through Whipple Hill. Email is our primary means of connecting with the parent community. Unlocking your email will allow us to do this and allow you to establish your presence within the parent community, namely, your class and grade for coordination of class activities, play dates, and various other reasons.
While it may seem to be far off in the future, plans are already rolling for the 2013 Spring Fair with our new chair for that event being PJ Kapilan (Anjali M5, Ajanth M2). Stay tuned for the details.
The pizza program is underway as of October 4. It is never too late to order. If anyone is interested in slinging pizzas, please contact me and I can connect you with the team.
As always, I encourage you to contact me if you have any beefs, concerns or are just looking to share ideas or your time with the PAC.
