Our Pillar of Arts buzzed with live performances after a hiatus of the past couple of years.
We started with the Senior School Musical, Pippin. Even though there was limited seating for the audience, we streamed it live for audiences that could not attend.
Our Middle School thespians had their moment under the stage lights on April 13 and 14 when they performed Fairy Tale Land, written by our very own grade 9 students, Heather Clarke, Oliva Liu, Maggie Wen. The play was inspired by many works including Chris Colfer’s Land of Stories, Frank L. Baum, Lewis Caroll, Alan Menken, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Disney Entertainment. All the music was originally composed by our students as well.
The theme of fairy tales was continued in our Prep School Play, The Rockin’ World of Cinderella. Our grade 4 students put hours of work into learning the lyrics, the music, the dance and the dialogues, and they had a blast bringing the play alive on stage. In fact, they wanted to take pay on tour and travel around the country performing.
Such is the impact of the Pillar of Arts on our students!
