Ms. Karla Silver Retired

Ms. Karla Silver has retired after 43 years at HGS!

I am collecting testimonials (in print and video) to include in a momento album and to share at future celebrations. If you would like to wish her well, have a funny story or memory to share, I encourage you to pass it along.

Please feel free to pass along any photos that you may have. I have put together a video for her as well and would love to include photos we may not have in our database.

Please email your testimonials to me at fmascaro@hgs.ns.ca.

Stay well!

Hi there, My name is Emmery Bureau and I would love to pass along a short message to Karla Silver. I would like to thank her for all the years we spent together as a student of hers. I am currently a teacher at Woodlawn High teaching visual arts 10 and 11. If she has a personal email I can reach out to, I would LOVE to get in contact with her regarding a lesson plan. Thank you, Emmery Bureau

Oh my goodness! Where to begin with memories of Prep 3 and Miss Silver's art adventures? So many masks, so many magical giant shoe sculptures, so many fun experiences with Ukrainian egg workshops...such an exceptional art teacher and friend. Congrats, Karla--and you're leaving shoes the size of suspended canoes to fill! XO Jan and David Buley, now teaching at Memorial University's Faculty of Education
