Congratulations, Daniel Lewis '09 - Two Ivy League Degrees

Congratulations, Daniel Lewis '09, who recently received his doctorate in Economics specializing in Econometrics from Harvard University. Daniel received his first Ivy League degree from Princeton University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude (highest honours) in Economics with a certificate in Political Economy. He was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa and won the John Glover Wilson Memorial Award for the best original research in international economics.

"Lewis feels it was ultimately his involvement with the Canadian High School Debating Team and coach Josh Judah that eventually set him on the path to an Ivy League education. It allowed him the opportunity to speak to students from all over the world and discuss university choices and different programs with some of the brightest minds." Nice to see Daniel recognized his time at Grammar as contributing to his success. While attending HGS, he was elected to debate for Canada at the 2008 World Championships in Washington DC., and in Track and Field, was selected as part of the National team to compete at the 2009 World Championships in Athens.

His parents, Peter and Avril, stopped in to tour the new campus and could not be more proud of Daniel and his accomplishments. Daniel has accepted a position in the Research Department on the US Federal Reserve in New York City. Read more on his success.

Best of luck, Daniel!
