    Retakes are available for students who previously signed up to have another photo taken, or for students who missed our original photo day.

    With the generous support of a Gordon Stirrett Wealth Management Community Service Grant, HGS has arranged to prepare one meal a week through the Home for Dinner program at Ronald McDonald House. In turn, each homeroom or group will have the opportunity to plan a menu, shop for groceries, and prepare a meal for the families staying at the house at 1133 Tower Road.

    Middle & Senior Remembrance Day Assembly - UNIFORM REQUIRED

    SMU McNally Theatre
    Uniforms are required for this assembly. As such, there will be no uniforms required for Middle & Senior Students on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

    We will be switching third period on Wednesday, November 8th, with third period on Friday, November 10th, to accommodate this.

    Remembrance Day Assembly - Middle & Senior

    On Friday, November 10th, all Middle and Senior School Students and Faculty will attend the Remembrance Day Assembly.  This assembly will take place at McNally Theatre, Saint Mary's University, beginning at 10:30am.  Students will return to school after the assembly.
     
    Students are expected to be in full uniform and to travel to SMU directly after 2nd period so that the assembly can start on time.

    Bring a Friend to School days are back! From November 14-15, and 20-24, 2017 students can invite their friends to join them for a full day at Halifax Grammar School.
     
    If you would like to participate in Bring a Friend to School, please fill out the form, found under the downloads section of the website, and submit it to our Admissions Assistant, Ms. Kyle, at the TRC desk or by email. Please remember, you must submit the form at least two days in advance since we are not able to accommodate last-minute visitors. The numbers of visiting students per class are limited each day, so submit your form early to be sure you can bring your friend on the day you prefer.

    The 12th Annual Grammar Classic Invitational Basketball Tournament will be held at the Homburg Centre (SMU) and Grammar from November 16th to 18th, with twelve girls' and boys' teams from across Atlantic Canada participating.
