Michael Song, 2009 graduate, was offered a graduate studentship in the neuroscience program at the University of Oxford, considered one of the best graduate programs in Europe. This year, there were 260 applicants of which 15 were offered studentships. Following this program, he will complete a masters degree (one year) after which he intends to proceed with the PhD in Neuroscience for the ensuing three years. Oxford is at the forefront of one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century - deciphering how the brain works. The breadth of research in Neuroscience in Oxford offers unrivaled training opportunities for Graduate students.

Although Michael was confident of receiving similar offers from the University of Cambridge and the Montreal Neurological Institute and recently received a significant offer for admission to Dalhousie Medical School, he decided, after much thought, to accept the offer from Oxford. This is certainly an exciting point in Michael’s life, and he would like to once again thank the Grammar School for helping him realize and expand his potential. Congratulations, Michael!
