Every year, current HGS families, grandparents, faculty, alumni and others show their support by contributing to the Annual Giving Campaign. As with most independent schools, we depend on the generosity of our school community to fund the purchase of equipment and programs that support the education of each student at HGS, which is not possible through tuition alone.

Annual Giving runs from our fiscal year of July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. There are several ways to make a gift to HGS and all donations are fully tax deductible:

• cash or cheque made payable to Halifax Grammar School
• Visa and MasterCard over the phone or by mail
• monthly or quarterly pledge by credit card
• online through our secure website
• appreciated securities with the added bonus of no capital gains tax

EndowmentAn endowment is an investment fund set aside for the long-term support of a charitable or non-profit organization. We are establishing an Endowment Fund and welcome inquiries about bequests to HGS, gifts of life insurance, and other life-income gifts that will provide for the future stability of the school.
