Where students flourish and teachers inspire

News

HGS is now a Nut-Free School

In our community, we have a significant number of students in our Prep,No Nuts! Middle, and Senior schools with nut allergies. For them, ingesting or merely coming in contact with nuts may cause reactions from mild discomfort to anaphylactic shock leading to death.

Since HGS believes in providing a safe and secure learning environment, we have moved to a “nut free” community.

Artist Donates TRC Painting

We are delighted to announce that a talented member of our HGS community has graciously donated her original watercolour painting of the Tower Road Campus to the school. Mrs. Joan Wilson , paternal grandmother of Kati S1 and Rob M5 Wilson , is a skilled artist whose paintings have been accepted in numerous juried exhibits and have found homes around the world. Originally from Cape Breton, Joan has always had a keen interest in fine arts, painting in various media and especially in watercolours.

Joan is generously donating a portion of the sales of her prints to the athletic program. Orders can be taken for the following:

Unmatted print $35
Matted print $75
Framed and matted $160

We are grateful that Joan chose to express her artistic talents in a beautiful rendering of our Tower Road Campus that will benefit a vibrant aspect of student life at HGS.
