HGS offers a highly competitive soccer program for students in Middle and Senior Schools. At the Senior level, the teams compete in Division 1, where they have been very successful in recent years. At the Middle School level, teams compete in the Citadel Zone League for Junior High Schools where they have the chance to hone their skills.
The Senior Girl's team is coached by Denis Huck and Heather Kingston and at the 2008-09 CAIS Tournament finished third. The Junior Girls team is coached by Cindy Wilson and Kathy O'Connor and won the CAIS Jr. Girls Soccer Championships in 2009-10.
The Senior Boys team is coached by Peter Leebrook and Kevin Curran. The Junior Boys team is coached by CJ Young and Deborah Goodfellow. During the 2008-09 season they finished as Regional Finalists.

Senior High Games are scheduled at the following fields;
Burnside Field: Burnside Drive, Dartmouth, NS
Located in Burnside Industrial Park on Commodore Drive Extension. Off the McKay bridge, take the 3rd exit - to Burnside Drive - Turn Left onto Burnside Dr. At the 2nd set of lights, turn right onto Commodore Drive (there is a strip mall with Staples, Pets Unlimited and NSLC). Go straight on Commodore Drive. Cross Specticle Lake Drive. Fields are on the left (approximately 400 metres). Click here for a map.
Mainland North Fields: 210 Thomas Raddall Dr, Halifax, NS
From Highway 102, take exit 2A (Lacewood Drive). Heading north on Lacewood, turn right onto Regency Park at the second set of lights (by Smittys and Swiss Chalet). Proceed to the top of the hill and turn left. Continue over the 1 lane bridge. Alternatively from Dunbrack, turn onto Lacewood, and then turn left onto Thomas Raddall Drive (by the Keshen Goodman Library). Click here for a map.
Weir Field - Upper Sackville, Halifax, NS
An artificial turf field located off Highway 1 in Upper Sackville. Take Highway 101 West from Bedford/Sackville, then take Exit 2 onto the Beaverbank Road. Turn left at the lights on to Highway 1 West and travel 7.3 km. Field is behind recreation centre on the left. A large sign on the road-side lets you know where to turn off. Alternatively, take Exit 3 near Mount Uniacke, then Highway 1 East back about 5 km toward Sackville. Field will be on the right. Click here for a map.
