Expectations are higher this year for the senior boys’ basketball team at Halifax Grammar School. With nine of 11 players returning they are looking to improve upon what can only be described as a rebuilding year. The team has a very positive attitude and a solid work ethic, both of which will help them as they try to move up in the very competitive Metro League.
Returning players include seniors: Luke Liu, Casper Macaulay, Coleman Mallery and Louis Zatzman. All four will be looked upon to provide versatility and senior leadership.
Tim Crowell, Al MacDonald & Myles MacNaughton all saw valuable minutes last year as freshmen, and will be looked upon to build upon that experience this year. Rounding out this years team are five grade 10 players, two of which saw action last year while still in grade nine.
Returning from last year’s team are Daniel Thompson and Jason Wilson, Wilson was team MVP in grade nine and Thompson is much improved from his rookie season. New faces to the team are: Dominique Hill, Ashton Slawter, and Sven Stammberger, all three are expected to play key roles on this year’s team.
