We are pleased to announce that Grammar has a new school ring for graduates and alumni who have not graduated.
Allyson Simmie ’85, an HGS graduate, was commissioned in 2008 to design a contemporary HGS ring, as well as several commemorative pieces for the 50th Anniversary of the school.
After completing a degree in Fine Arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Allyson moved to Iqaluit in 1994 to teach jewellery making at Nunavut Arctic College. She moved back to Nova Scotia with her family and established a new studio in Blandford. Allyson is an accomplished jeweller and sculptor, whose work has been widely shown and collected by clients including The Office of the Governor General of Canada, The Governments of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, the Premier of Nunavut, the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, and now the Halifax Grammar School.
The ring is of high quality and custom-crafted in Sterling Silver for $280, in Yellow or White Gold (10K) for $480. These are current gold prices and are subject to change. Please contact the Development office at 431-8570 to place an order or click here for the order form.
The Alumni Association is currently seeking Class Reps for certain years. Class Representatives are the friends who donate a few hours each year, keeping their classmates together and informed about each other and events of interest such as reunions.
