The Grammar School awakens in many students a genuine creative spirit and true apppreciation for the arts. From the earliest years, our youngest pupils are introduced to music, nurtured and developed by specialist teachers. Young voices are developed in the Prep Choir. The HGS Prep Holiday Concert, the Prep Musical and the School Talent Show are just some of the highlights. 

From the first day students enter our Middle School, they are introduced to music and the opportunity to learn an instrument. Students not only learn about popular music and jazz, they are challenged to consider the intriguing possibilities of Opera.

Students can also enjoy a co-curricular life featuring a Grammar Idol competition, the Jazz Cafe, and an annual Talent Show. 

In the Senior School, music forms an important part of student life, showcased at school assemblies,  and our regular Coffee Houses. Students can elect to study IB Music, which is offered in alternate years. Each year, the Senior School offers a full musical production, involving many students and faculty. Our annual productions testify to the remarkable growth of the arts at HGS.
