Uniforms
If you have any questions about ordering online from Lands’ End, their customer service centre is very responsive and helpful. Their website also has a comprehensive sizing chart to help you find the perfect size for your student.
Uniforms and Dress Code
At the Halifax Grammar School, our students are welcome to dress casually on most days of the year, while respecting a dress code that requires them to wear clothing appropriate to the occasion and to the institution. Although uniforms are not worn every day, there is an official uniform for specified formal occasions such as guest speakers, special events, assemblies, and when representing Grammar on campus or in the community.

Lands’ End – Online School Uniform Supplier: The process for purchasing your student’s uniforms has changed, as we are now using Lands’ End online school uniform website. Their clothing lines offer selection, comfort, and value for the price. Note: Please allow 10-14 days for delivery of clothing during peak 'back-to-school' times.
You can access our school’s uniform selections on their site by creating an account at: https://www.landsend.com/ From there:
- Select the ‘School’ tab, located at the top of the screen.
- You will be directed to the school uniform site, where you can create your student’s accounts by clicking the ‘Shop by School’ button, located near the top of the screen.
- In the next screen, you will need to enter our School Number – 900190463.
- Then you will be prompted to enter your student’s name and indicate their grade.
Mondays are Uniform Days: As you know, uniforms are a part of the Grammar experience and all our students are required to wear their school uniforms each Monday throughout the school year.
Uniform Options: Students now have the choice to wear our traditional, formal uniform clothing every Monday or they may opt for more relaxed clothing choices from our new uniform line.
Formal Uniform Clothing: All students are required to have the traditional, formal uniform clothing, and will be asked to wear it on special occasions (i.e. guest speakers at school, class trips, Remembrance Day ceremonies, etc.).
Please know that students are welcome to wear their traditional, formal uniform clothing every Monday, and they are not required to buy any other clothing. The informal options are simply that – options, not requirements.
Informal Uniform Clothing: For all other Mondays, when it is not a special occasion, students can still wear their formal uniform clothing or they may choose to wear clothing from our new uniform line.
There is no obligation to purchase the newly available additional uniform items because ALL current uniform pieces remain acceptable for Uniform Mondays.

Prep School
Our Prep School students are required to have the following items for formal and, if they choose, informal uniform days.Required Items:- White dress shirt (long or short sleeve) with khaki pants; OR
- White dress shirt (long or short sleeve) with plaid tunic dress.
- Ties are no longer a requirement for the prep uniform but students are welcome to wear them if they wish.
Optional Items:- Polo shirts (long or short sleeve)
- Polo dresses
- Khaki shorts or skorts
- Cardigans
- Sweater vests

Middle School
Our Middle School students are required to have the following items for formal and, if they choose, informal uniform days.Required Items:- White dress shirt (long or short sleeve) with khaki pants; OR
- White dress shirt (long or short sleeve) with kilt, plaid skirt, or plaid skort.
- Tie
In addition, all Middle School students are required to have a Physical Education uniform that includes:- Green short sleeve active T-shirt
- Black mesh gym shorts
- Green v-neck sweaters
- Navy blue blazers (Grade 9 only)
- Polo shirts (long or short sleeve)
- Polo dresses
- Khaki shorts or skorts
- Cardigans
- Sweater vests

Our Senior School students are required to have the following items for formal and, if they choose, informal uniform days.
Required Items:- White dress shirt (long or short sleeved) with khaki pants; OR
- White dress shirt (long or short sleeved) with kilt, plaid skirt, or plaid skort.
- Tie
Optional Items:- Navy blue blazers
- Polo shirts (long or short sleeve)
- Khaki shorts or skorts
